Remembering MRCA past President Kurt W. Baumgartner

Kurt W. Baumgartner was a pillar of the Wichita construction community and received the MRCA's highest honor, the McCawley Award, in 1998.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of former MRCA President Kurt W. Baumgartner, who passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the age of 75.

Kurt led Martin Roofing Company for many years and was a pillar in the Wichita construction community. His leadership and service to the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association were invaluable, culminating in his receipt of MRCA’s highest honor, the McCawley Award, in 1998.

Kurt will be remembered not only for his professional contributions but also for his deep faith, generosity and love for his family, nature and of course — his dogs. He lived with purpose and leaves a lasting impact on all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Wichita, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Kansas Wildlife Federation or to a conservation organization of your choice.
