Is anyone else getting more customers asking about impact-resistant shingles?

I've had several homeowners bring this up lately after seeing articles like this one:

https://www.gaf.com/en-us/blog/your-home/what-are-impact-resistant-shingles-281474980260406 FNF

A lot of them seem to think impact-resistant shingles are completely hail-proof, and I end up explaining that's not really how they work. They can help reduce damage from certain impacts, but they're definitely not a guarantee after a major storm.

For those of you in hail-prone areas, are you seeing enough of a difference to recommend upgrading, or do you only suggest them when insurance is covering part of the cost?

I'm interested in hearing real-world experiences rather than just what the manufacturers advertise.
