Tuesday, first thing in the morning, I was backing my dump trailer back into postion along side of the house when, all of a sudden my truck drops a foot with a *thud*. "What the heck"!! I get out and my left rear has fallen through the sod into a hole with the axel sitting on the ground. For the next hour, I started a procedure of jacking and blocking till I got the left rear high enough that I could shove a 2x10 across the hole. Unhooked my trailer and pulled the truck forward. Found out that I had fallen into a 3'x 3'x 3' deep abandoned 'culvert' type thing. It was brick lined and DID have a thin concrete lid with the sod on top. What a way to start a 90* day.
