Hi, looking for ideas on how to form a good looking drip edge to put on the face of a approx. 10 ft. curved dormer. The stone masons and carpenters made a mess of the install, and roofer now has to make it right. I usually use downpipe crimpers to form the curve, but here need about a 21/2" face to hide the mess of the front. using lead coated copper, with a 2 ply mod bit applied to the dormer. thanks for any help

That would be an easy one to do. Save yourself the money on the shrinkers and just cut a piece of copper about 16 wide (just a guess on the width from the pic.)and scribe the arch on the top side first, then use your scribe to make it the finish size and hand tong it. The radius is not that sharp.

here is a pic of one of the dormers, on this one there is 3 layers of 1/2" plywood over the stone,so need 2.5" face.

Hi coppersmith, i saw a video online about the shrinker-stretcher, This one was a small hand operated one, not sure it would allow at 2.5" face also saw a tinknocker crimper-beader,but did not give a lot of info on that. Will try to call a couple of dealers Monday.. thx

the only way to make that look good is to use a shrinker/ stretcher machine. thats how this edging was done
