Top September articles: Taking care of the industry's future

From mental health care to workforce development and economic outlooks, this month we’ve been talking a lot about the future of roofing. 

Our Coffee Shops crew has been busy this month, publishing more than 200 articles across RoofersCoffeeShop, MetalCoffeeShop and CoatingsCoffeeShop! It can be hard to keep up with all of the amazing content and information coming out, so we made a shortlist of the top 10 most popular articles of September 2025.  

Writer Jenny Yu made our list twice, with one of her articles taking the top spot! That article highlights that September is Suicide Prevention Month and shares a variety of mental health resources that you and your crew can utilize. This is important for everyone, but especially for our industry, as a “2023 study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that the suicide rate in construction occupations is nearly four times greater than the national average and five times greater than that of all other construction fatalities combined.” 

Another writer from The Coffee Shops, Emma Peterson, made the list for her article about roofers supporting and protecting veterans across the country by donating free roofs. Senior writer Dani Sheehan also had a couple articles in the top 10. One was about Sherwin-Williams Roofing Solutions' new two-product spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing system. The other was a deep dive into incentives and barriers in the economic landscape of roofing post the passing of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1). 

And to round out a recap, our very own President Heidi J. Ellsworth is featured on this month’s list with her article about the incredible impact that the Roofing Alliance has had on our industry. She explains, “The Roofing Alliance brings together contractors, manufacturers, suppliers and service providers who are committed to building a stronger future for roofing.
