The Great British Slate Off returns for 2026!

InstallerSHOW 2026 runs 23-25 June at the NEC in Birmingham and will attract an audience of 40,000 construction trades professionals over the three-day event.

The stage is set at InstallerSHOW 2026, and this year, the spotlight on roofing will be bigger than ever. At the heart of it will be the culmination of 2026’s Great British Slate Off contest - designed to celebrate skill, precision and pride in the trade.

The contest is being run by NFRC in partnership with SIG Roofing, and is a call to the nation’s most talented roofing professionals. Whether you're an experienced slater or an emerging craftsperson ready to prove your skills, this is your chance to show off your talent with the chance to win a fantastic range of prizes, including an exclusive training opportunity and grand final taking place live at InstallerSHOW 2026.

Entries are officially open 

Across the UK, roofers are being invited to put themselves forward for the contest. But this isn’t just about competition – it’s about recognition, development, celebrating craftsmanship and an exclusive prize package!

Entries are welcomed through online form and video submission at: The Great British Slate Off - SIG Roofing. Closing date for entries is 1st May 2026.

Entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts appointed by NFRC. Judges will be looking for exceptional technical skill, craftsmanship, quality of finish and overall presentation. Three lucky finalists will be chosen to go on to something truly special.

Three finalists will receive:

• Two days of elite training in ornamental slating at the InstallerSHOW by NFRC expert training providers (23-25 June 2026)
