Westlake recently released updated installation guides for their Unified Steel products.   

Westlake Royal Roofing Solutions is a well-known name in the roofing industry. With brands like DaVinci composite roofing, Newpoint concrete and Universal Steel, they provide roofing and reroofing solutions to architects, designers, contractors and more across the country. And to help provide support to their clients, they have developed a series of educational resources that showcase tips and tricks for successful installations!  

Most recently, Westlake announced the release of 10 updated Unified Steel installation guides! The Westlake team developed these guides based on feedback from their trusted installation partners. A key way they have made these materials are accessible to all is by making them available online in both English and Spanish, with the granite-ridge shingle guide also available in French! 

Explore the manuals 

• Granite-ridge shingle – From cutting shingles to size to navigating an installed roof safely, this guide takes you through how to install these aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel shingles.  
• Cottage shingle – For their cottage shingle products, Westlake has created two guides! One covers the cut and tuck installation method where the other focuses on bend up. 
• Pine-crest shake – With three different guides, Westlake is making sure you are prepared to install their shake roofing, whether that's through cut and tuck; bend up of batten installation.  
• Pacific tile – The guides for Pacific tile installation showcase how both a direct to deck bend up method and a batten install method. 
• Barrel-vault tile – Just like Pacific tile, Westlake made sure to highlight both installation methods, bend up and batten install, with two unique guides for barrel-vault tile. 

And to make it more efficient for contractors to install Unified Steel in the field, Westlake also created short installation videos that include links to the relevant, more in-depth guides. These videos also connect you to resources such as the Technical Resource Library, Code Approvals and the Material List Generator (MLG).
