Complete Guide to Becoming a Nextdoor Favorite

SureFire Local Connect with Homeowners on Nextdoor
April 21, 2019 at 2:03 p.m.

By Surefire Local.

Nextdoor is expanding their offerings to small businesses.

Have you heard of Nextdoor? It is a private social network for neighborhoods. Businesses are welcome to be part of the neighborhood conversation, a great opportunity to build their local reputation. Being on Nextdoor allows businesses the chance to reach verified residents on the only social network that exists for neighborhoods and to grow their business using trusted neighbor referrals.

Here is how to get your local page setup today:

1 – Visit nextdoor.com/create-business and choose claim as ‘Business’ then click on ‘Continue’ to search for your page.

2 – Add your full name, phone number and address. Input your service in the ‘service category’ field

3 – Add a clear headshot and a warm greeting message and click ‘Continue.’

An effective local page includes:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Office hours
  • Contact info
  • Photo
  • Greeting message
  • Recommendations

Use your business page to inform members of the services you offer and ensure your page accurately reflects your message. Grow your local reputation with each and every member recommendation you receive. Read, respond and thank your neighbors for recommending your business.

Nextdoor creates stronger, connected communities. These are real people, with real addresses with 81% of U.S. neighborhoods using the site. The site’s members are 60 percent female, have average household incomes over $100,000 and 72 percent of them are homeowners. The numbers are pretty powerful:

  • 24 percent of all Nextdoor posts are neighbor recommendations
  • 67 percent of members have shared recommendations with their neighbors
  • 80 percent of members have been influenced by a neighbor recommendation
