From March 12–15, 2026, the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) will host its annual convention, bringing together building enclosure professionals for education, networking and industry insight. On Friday, March 13, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., documentary filmmaker and speaker Brett Culp will deliver the featured keynote, Superhero Leadership in Uncertain Times. Sponsored by Western Colloid, the session will focus on redefining leadership through authenticity, service and human connection in periods of change. According to IIBEC, “Brett is an award-winning documentary filmmaker who helps leaders and teams rediscover clarity, courage and connection in times of transformation.”
Brett is a storyteller shaped by years as an award-winning documentary filmmaker. His work can be found on streaming platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and Apple TV and he has been featured in USA Today, WIRED, The LA Times and The Hollywood Reporter. His focus on clarity and connection when circumstances are shifting helps listeners feel empowered as they face uncertainty. At IIBEC, that perspective reframes leadership as something practiced in moments rather than managed from above.
By grounding leadership in lived experience, Brett encourages professionals to see that influence does not depend on a title. Even in highly technical roles shaped by specifications, budgets and tight timelines, the way they communicate, support teams and make decisions carries weight.
The keynote leans into instability rather than resisting it. Brett’s stories draw from environments where resources were limited and outcomes unclear, mirroring conditions familiar to many in the roofing industry.
Brett’s Instant Storytelling experience extends the keynote beyond the stage. By weaving attendee interviews that were previously recorded into the presentation, the people in the room become part of the narrative, turning individual voices into collective meaning.
“This presentation redefines leadership as a calling fueled by authenticity, humility and service,” IIBEC notes.
As IIBEC attendees look ahead to March, Brett’s keynote offers more than inspiration — it offers a moment to reconnect with the purpose behind the work they do every day. His approach reminds professionals that leadership isn’t reserved for crisis or hierarchy, but is built through courage, authenticity and shared experience.
