Army Veteran Comes Home to a New Roof

Three companies volunteer to build a roof on a Powder Springs home.

Ted Hayes was surprised with a new roof on his home in Powder Springs, Georgia.  “Hayes served 10 years in the Army as a telecommunications specialist,” FOX5 Atlanta reported.  And he was in need of a new roof.

A year ago, the original roof was damaged in a storm.  “...Repairs would not be fully covered by insurance,” according to FOX5 Atlanta’s reporting.  Tammy, Ted’s wife, shared with CBS46, “It was a storm that came through and caused the damage.  And for some reason it’s just been a battle to get it fixed, with the insurance company.  They wanted to do half the roof. Who does half a roof?”

Without the help of the insurance company, volunteers took action.  Veteran owned company Dreamworks Restoration Contractors knew this repair needed to be taken care of.  Part of their company culture, besides customer service, is establishing a personal relationship with their clients so they are left with a lasting memory.  Also helping to create that memory was Beacon Roofing Supply and CertainTeed.  They offered their services and assisted Dreamworks Restoration with the roof installation.

Thanks to the generosity of these three companies, the Hayes’ can now enjoy a fully finished roof, not just half of one.
