Eagle Roofing Products has once again raised the bar for tile roofing systems with the launch of Eagle Anchor XFR, a next-generation self-adhered underlayment developed in partnership with Polyglass®. Engineered to simplify installation while strengthening protection, this innovative product combines superior waterproofing and fire-resistant performance into one efficient, single-layer solution. Designed specifically for tile applications, Eagle Anchor XFR helps contractors, builders and homeowners achieve lasting durability and compliance with the most demanding codes, especially in wildfire-prone regions. 

Unlike traditional multi-layer assemblies that require separate waterproofing and fire-rated sheets, Eagle Anchor XFR delivers both functions in one product. Its advanced dual-compound construction includes a plastomeric-modified top surface for toughness and a self-adhering SBS-modified bottom layer that seals tightly around fasteners to prevent leaks. The underlayment also features Polyglass’ Burn Shield Technology®, which provides exceptional ember resistance and has earned a Class A fire rating under ASTM E108 testing, meeting some of the highest standards in roofing. 

The innovation lies not just in the materials but in the integration of fire and waterproofing capabilities into a single product. Traditionally, achieving this level of protection requires multiple layers — typically a base underlayment followed by a fire-rated cap sheet. Eagle Anchor XFR removes this redundancy, streamlining installation and reducing labor, material costs and system weight without compromising code compliance. Its design is particularly advantageous in jurisdictions that enforce Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) standards, such as those in wildfire-vulnerable regions across the Western United States and Canada. 

In addition to its performance benefits, Eagle Anchor XFR is constructed with a fiberglass mat core that adds structural strength and thermal stability. Its mineral-surfaced top layer not only protects against UV exposure during the installation phase but also offers enhanced traction for crews working on steep-slope roofs. The membrane can be exposed to the elements for up to 180 days before tile installation, giving contractors greater flexibility in scheduling and weather-related delays. 

Warranty support further strengthens the product’s appeal. Polyglass® offers a standard 10-year limited material warranty on Eagle Anchor XFR, and for added assurance, a 10-year labor and material warranty is available when the product is installed by a Polyglass Registered Contractor.
