When labor is tight, partnering with a staffing agency can be a smart solution. In this episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Kristin Case, managing partner at Hi-Peak Staffing Solutions, explained her top three insights for roofing contractors looking to partner with a staffing agency.
The first quality Kristin emphasized was to look for a hiring partner that specializes in your industry, not a merely general contracting agency. Kristin shared how many clients who worked with other agencies in the past expressed frustrations in working with recruiters from other backgrounds that weren’t specific to roofing.
“When you don't understand the needs of roofing, it's a longer lag time to get up and running,” Kristin explained. “So, deep understanding of the roofing industry through someone who is specialized is a big one.”

That brings us to Kristin’s third key for choosing the right hiring partner: speed and consistency. “When you receive a job order from someone who is a strategic partner, they're able to execute relatively quickly, versus someone starting from scratch,” Kristin said, warning of the inefficiencies that could ensue. “You may not see a resume for three or four weeks.”
